SAMPLE WINE COURSES

Our wine training courses are all bespoke and built to suit the exact requirements of our individual hospitality clients, but the sample courses below will give you an idea of the type of full day and part day wine courses we offer.

In advance of your training day itself, we use your wine list, food menu and your specific requests to build a bespoke wine course based around your menus and the precise areas you feel your team require support with.

Sample course A:

New starters wine course

Beginners wine course, ideal introduction for new staff, as part of the on-boarding process

from just £545.00 to train your team as a group

Course duration:  2 hours

When employing new staff it can be very difficult to up-skill them to your required level in a short period of time. With this part-day course for groups of staff, we will bring your new starters up to speed on the key wines on your wine list, how those wines pair with the dishes on your food menu, and give them an understanding of how to present, open and pour wines for your guests.

Training includes…

  • Unique selling points and key details about your wines by the glass and most popular wines.

  • Which dishes from your current menu pair best with each of your wines by the glass.

  • Service training on how to present, open and pour wines (including how to open sparkling wines and cork sealed wines).

Sample course B:

Introduction to wine service

Beginners wine course, ideal for staff who are new to hospitality or have limited wine experience

from just £695.00 to train your team as a group

Course duration:  3 - 3.5 hours

As a hospitality operator, the ideal scenario is to have all of your front of house team delivering a consistent service to your guests, regardless of when they come and dine with you. With this course we will train your team as a group and ensure they have knowledge of your wines and your food menu, so they can offer great recommendations to your customers. We will also train your team on how to correctly serve wines to your guests and how they can deal with the most common wine queries they might face.

Training includes…

  • Focus on all the key wines on your list, learning the varying characteristics and the key differences between these wines.

  • Introduction to food and wine matching, based on your wine list and your food menu.

  • Service training on how to present, open and pour wines (including how to open sparkling wines and cork sealed wines).

  • Training on how to deal with some of the most common wine queries and complaints your team may hear from customers.

Sample course C:

Confident with wine

Intermediate wine course, ideal for staff regularly taking orders and serving wines at tables

from just £795.00 to train your team as a group

Course duration:  4 - 4.5 hours

Taking wine service levels and knowledge to the next level, this course will give your team confidence to recommend wines from across your wine list and match them to your guest's meals. The course includes a tasting segment.
