FAQs
What is Hospovin wine training like?
Hospovin wine training sessions are fun, laid-back and easy to understand, for all experience levels.
At Hospovin, we believe that nobody can truly learn if they are not relaxed. Making sure staff
in our training sessions have smiles on their faces and are happy to ask questions is key for us.
It's tough to learn anything if you are feeling stressed or under pressure and the reality is that
most wine training is incredibly boring and is far too complicated for most hospitality staff.
How is Hospovin wine training different?
Hospovin training is unlike any other wine training! We avoid the intimidating and confusing terminology associated with wine, using simple language to deliver true impact. We train staff on their exact wines
and how these pair with their specific dishes, focusing on 3 entirely unique areas:
1 - Enjoyable, down-to-earth methods, making wine easy to understand for staff of all experience levels.
2 - Sales focus, delivering clear sales boosts for our clients, training staff on how to sell their exact wines.
3 - Hospovin wine training is created with a specific focus on hospitality wine sales and service.
Do Hospovin offer WSET training courses?
No. Hospovin use our own unique training methods to deliver wine training

each individual venue we train. However, the sample courses on our website will give you
a good idea of the general themes our training sessions are always based around.
Do Hospovin deliver public wine training sessions that anyone can join?
Unfortunately not. All Hospovin training sessions are for the staff
of hospitality businesses and take place at each of our individual client's premises.
Where does Hospovin training take place?
Our training is carried out on the premises of each individual restaurant or hotel we are training.
Hospovin do not operate our own training facilities.
Do Hospovin travel to deliver wine training?
Yes, Hospovin visit our clients to deliver on-site training all over the U.K.
Hospovin also travel to deliver training to our clients elsewhere in Europe and in the Middle East.
Training further afield than this, such as the USA, is usually delivered remotely.
Do Hospovin deliver remote wine training?
Yes. Whilst most of our training is carried out on the premises of each
individual restaurant or hotel we train, we do offer remote options for clients who find
it difficult to bring all staff together in one place, such as cruise ship or aviation clients.
How long do Hospovin training sessions last?
Individual training sessions themselves usually last between 2-3 hours, depending on content.
However, we offer training courses ranging from these short sessions, to full days of training,
and even ongoing bespoke training programmes, with certification branded for our clients.
How many members of staff can take part in a Hospovin training session?
In order to encourage maximum engagement and maximise learning potential,
we recommend 8-10 staff as a rough limit for each individual wine training session.
However, we appreciate there are times when larger groups need training, so we can be flexible.
For example, we've delivered pre-opening training for entire front of house teams due to time constraints.
Is Hospovin wine training suitable for new staff with no existing wine knowledge?
Yes. In fact, we pride ourselves on making wine easy to understand for hospitality staff
of all experience levels, including those entirely new to wine and/or hospitality.

Yes, our training is suitable for everyone, whether they drink alcohol or not.
Much of our training is about sales methods and unique sellings points for wines, including
training staff on food pairing, grapes, styles and pronunciation. Tasting helps, but is not essential.
We have trained many people who do not drink alcohol for religious or dietary reasons,
but these participants have still been able to take part in the training and develop their knowledge.
